The manager saves a card while creating the request. After a goalie accepts, both participants open the skate in the app. At the rink, the assigned goalie scans the manager’s private QR code or enters the six-digit code. Verified arrival triggers the card payment and goalie credit. A saved card is not a completed payment.

The fine print, made clear
Before puck drop.
How much does it cost to request a goalie?
The standard request is $40, with no signup or membership fee. Save a card while creating your listing. New listings place no charge or hold until the assigned goalie checks in; any eligible discount is shown before you agree.
What happens after I request a goalie?
After you save a card and publish, your request is sent to eligible local goalies when matching is active. The first eligible goalie to accept gets the skate. Open the skate for messages and the arrival code. Availability and successful card payment are not guaranteed.
Can I see the local goalie roster?
No. Goalie identities and contact information stay private. Before accepting, a goalie sees only the rink, date, time, level, game type, and request number—not your contact information, team or skate name, locker-room details, or private notes.
Can I change or cancel my request?
Use the private management link provided when you submit. A confirmed booking can be changed or canceled free through 90 minutes before puck drop. A material change may release the confirmed goalie and restart matching. Late changes require owner review.
When does the goalie get paid?
At the rink, the assigned goalie scans the manager’s skate-specific QR code or enters its six-digit code in the app. Valid check-in releases the payment to the goalie’s connected Square account. Bank-transfer timing follows the goalie’s Square settings.
What happens if the confirmed goalie backs out?
CreaseCallHockey reopens the skate to eligible active goalies in the local market. If the replacement offer opens at or within 90 minutes of puck drop, the replacement goalie receives $40 less Square’s processing fee. The customer is not charged more, and availability is still not guaranteed.
What if nobody is available?
A request starts the search but does not guarantee a match, especially for last-minute or holiday ice times. You are not charged without a confirmed goalie and completed arrival check-in.

CreaseCallHockey's Washington branch covers Washington, DC, Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda, Rockville, Wheaton, Laurel, Ashburn, and nearby areas. Choose a listed rink or the other-rink option when submitting your game.
